Stock Market Wrap - Up, Down, Unchanged!

Stocks closed the day about where they started it, with the Dow and S&P 500 up only fractionally, while the Nasdaq inched marginally lower. But the minimal change for the day does not tell the story. Stocks started the day strong on news that liquidity was flowing for Washington Mutual (NYSE: WM), and for Alcon, per Novartis (NYSE: NVS) for Neslte (Nasdaq: NSRGY.PK). But, by the end of the day, investors were taking profits and we closed flat. In other important news, Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) indicated to Yahoo! (Nasdaq: YHOO) that it was willing to go nasty on it, and turn its bid hostile. Please see the video below or at Wall Street Greek.
