Tired Bernanke Faces the Fire

Bernanke's Fed comes under Congressional scrutiny for the bailout of Bear Stearns (NYSE: BSC). The SEC Chief was on hand as well as the CEOs of Bear and JP Morgan Chase (NYSE: JPM). Treasury Secretary Paulson skipped town and sent his second in command to field questions. If we were on the Congressional panel, we would have asked why Bear's CEO didn't move his company's earnings report up a couple more days to save his shareholders their shirts. Recall, Bear moved the EPS report up to Monday from Thursday, but Bear did not survive the weekend.
