STOCKS TODAY - In China we Trust
China was on my mind all of last week ahead of the meeting of the National People’s Congress (NPC) in Beijing this weekend. And China came through with a plan U.S. markets would surely celebrate if it were their own. It’s hard to say how U.S. markets will digest China’s plan after the significant gains of the S&P 500 et al since their mid-February lows. After all, there is concern about China’s reforms as well, and if China’s economy will follow its leaders’ direction. However, I expect that by the close of China’s meetings in 10 days, equities will be higher on China’s push for growth, which is just one significant positive among a slew of supportive global central bank actions expected this week and next.
