Stocks on Edge of the Abyss
Stocks are trading dangerously close to abyss. An abundance of negativity has the market trading at the low end of a long-term range. It’s a level that in the recent past has defined bottom, but there seems to be an absence of solid fundamental cause to buy stocks. This creates a vulnerable situation where the market seems to be simply waiting at cliff’s edge for a black swan event or even a minor catalyst to sell off to lower levels. Thus, I am warning investors to limit risk despite the already significant hit to valuations. We are at risk of significant selloff to lower lows. What we need to recover is monetary or fiscal policy catalyst in the U.S. or China, or significantly improved economic data from either place or Europe. Look for those for a substantial reason to eventually buy stocks. See Stocks are Dangerously Close to Abyss here.
