After SARS and Avian Influenza failed to materialize into formidable threats, mostly due to Asia's successful containment of SARS and the pace of evolution of Avian Flu, we wonder if there is a resultant complacency in the United States. As the World Health Organization raises the Pandemic Alert Level, now to 5 (one from the top), it seems clear the world will experience its first pandemic since 1968.
So we would like to know, what does this mean to you? Are you concerned, or do you think Chicken Little is running the show at the CDC and WHO? Tell us, are you:

I for one am in between highly concerned and still assessing the situation. If this is a full-blown pandemic with a mortality rate like those in the past, then we have good reason for personal health concerns and economic concerns.
Still not sure what to make of things. Is this the Media bored with talking about Obama's 100th day in office? I'd like to think it is not an issue. How many people die in car accidents every day? How many children die from Starvation in Africa every day? Why isn't that "flashy" enough for the media to grab on to? I hope I am right too...
I really don't think the Swine flu is going to be very bad. In Mexico, the deaths only occurred because the people with the disease told themselves it was a regular old flu. And let's think about it: The regular flu, the common cold, and bad milk have all killed people too. I'm agreeing with Uncle here.
it really shows the irresponsibility and selfish that U.S government did not take serious steps to prevent the flu from spreading to other countries, it may not be a big concern to Americans considering that U.S have very good and sound medical system, but if you think a little about the poor countries which do not have good medical system, you should feel guilty for you bringing virus to worldwide
