Bush Dodges Shoes in Iraq

Visit the front pages of Wall Street Greek and Market Moving News to see our current coverage of economic reports and financial markets.

After giving Iraq "Shock and Awe" President George W. Bush receives "Sock and All!" GW, on a trip to sign the newly agreed upon Security Pact for Iraq, and ironically celebrating the drop in violence, became the subject of a random and bizarre shoe attack. An Iraqi reporter, seen in the video below, throws his two shoes at a nimble and elusive Bush. The Iraqi reporter claiming his 15 minutes of fame, yelled, "Here's your goodbye kiss, you dog!" as he hurled his footwear at the fleet afoot U.S. President. Bush joked afterward, saying, "All I know is it was a size 10 shoe!" To see the video of the Iraqi reporter throwing his shoes at George Bush, CLICK HERE.

We've included four different reportings of the incident, including one from Al Jazeera. Please tell us what you think of this event, of the Bush era and of Iraq's future. When cultures clash, unusual things happen. It appears that the incident was planned and not an irrational act on the part of the reporter. That said, President Bush represents the American people so the act reflects the attitude of a fringe group of redicals, and it is unfortunate that it was allowed to happen. Hate lingers for centuries in this part of the world.

I say Farewell Comrade Bush. The one man who single handedly betrayed and ruined the Republican Party turning it into the new Socialist Party of America. I guess now we have to look to the Democrats to try and bring some semblance of Capitalism back, and personal accountability.

It is apparent that the war was hated by most. We should have left them under Saddam's rule.

It's not so much his vision for the War on Terrorism, but his liberal spending policies. What happened to a limited government? Sure- cut taxes----but make sure taxes go in the same direction. Instead he gives a windfall tax break for everyone (good) but then passes the largest entitlement program since the days of the Great Society---the Prescription Drug Care Plan (bad). Last I learned, you can't take a hit in your paycheck, and then go on a spending spree. But I guess that only applies to us non-government folks. What ever happened to leading by example? No wonder our Country is in such dire straights----THIS IS WHAT I FAULT BUSH FOR---NOT THE WAR. And what about every budget from 2001-2006 he never saw fit to veto one item????? Bush is responsible for turning Capitalism, where risk could be rewarded, but could also be painful into our new Socialist Country where Risk is good as long as you are making money----but when the bad times roll in----you ask for Bail Outs? This is what needs to be fixed in this country first, before we can begin to fix our problems. And Greek---the first step in this process is letting the Mortgage Owers default on the homes they never belonged in, and let foreclosures return the natural supply and demand price of housing to Free Market ----NON FED STIMULATED AND SUPPORTED- Prices.

Good Day.
