Videos - A Conspiracy Theory Goes Too Far
Putting this video piece together nearly took as long as the entire week did to pass for those of us with heavy (or soft) hearts. While arranging the 70 short films you can see either below these words or via this link (Wall Street Greek), I questioned myself. I've been including various sources of media lately in order to provide a more rounded viewpoint, or rather to show you what other people are thinking. The difference of viewpoints across the globe are world's apart, both literally and ideologically speaking.
For Americans who travel abroad, like me, the words we hear about America and Americans are often as powerful as a slap in the face. I had included a video here from Al Jazeera that I could not keep within this set because of one word, "so-called." The reporter referred to our nation's "War on Terror" as a "so-called" cause. As a witness to 9/11, that was going too far with me. There's nothing "so-called" about it, no matter how you feel about its execution.
Those words were reminiscent of an idea I once encountered on a trip, that after initially blowing off as uneducated banter, I later found to be more than just the words of one misguided villager across the world. In fact, conspiracy theorists in this nation, who I have walked amongst in disgust in Union Square, in Manhattan, who held American flags that had been perverted with painted on swastikas, well they shared the same view. Apparently, ignorance is a common human trait. The same theory some far away villager held is a theory too many paranoid, reality-separated Americans hold. The theory is that our government would knowingly allow or even cause the injury of a great deal of Americans for the sake of some selfish cause. The anger these people and their ideas generate in my heart and mind, the disgust it creates, I cannot measure and I have trouble containing. No American president, being a patriot by default, would engage in such horror. And, there's something critical these people are missing in their lives, trust and faith in the Lord and that his will, will be done.
I know some people are irked easily by religious notation, and if you weren't yet, I guarantee you'll be more pissed off by the first video in this series below. You are about to watch a reporter say something in his initial interview that is just going to incite you. The reason it airs here is because this report contains much information of value, and the opposing views are important to understand. If long-lasting peace and global coalescence are to be achieved, then understanding of the origin of opposing views must be attained.
The views of the two Americans involved in these videos, from well-studied and in-the-know sources, are worth the time involved to watch them. The pieces I'm referencing lead off the series this week, and it's a three video set that you have to see. You must understand how a good portion of the world is thinking, and it's much different than CNN tells you. More importantly, the reasons why viewpoints differ so much are detailed much differently depending on the media source. Take note.
If you haven't time to watch all the videos, please peruse through and watch what interests you. As always, the views expressed within the videos often do not agree with the viewpoint of Wall Street Greek or its chief. We must warn that some videos may be disturbing to viewers, so take appropriate precaution.
